Testimonials

"Kaufman Connect has been a wonderful blessing to me.  I recently moved to the area and was looking online to see if the City of Kaufman had any activities for seniors.  I googled several times and each time it went to Kaufman Connect.  It was so easy, just walk in and introduce yourself.  Immediately I felt welcomed.  These people have become like family to me.  The activities are varied and I never felt pressured to participate.  If you're a senior in Kaufman please come visit with us and you'll find a welcoming group that loves people.”  Wes W.

"I had a pacemaker put in the last of May.  I live by myself and hated it.  Now that I started going to Kaufman Connect the problems I had with my back, knees and the rest of my body are also doing better.  Also, have friends to talk to. P.s. I am 85 years old."  Bob T.

“Kaufman Connect helps me to have a great life each day.  It gives me something to look forward to.  I get dressed and join my friends for weight exercises, eat together and even play BINGO.  We have an in-house cook, so come and join our blessed days!"  Bobbi C

"I was lucky to have someone recommend Kaufman Connect to me and get me out of my rut( pre-depression) . It took a major trauma for it to happen as everything in my life has. While cooking for myself I suffered 3rd-degree burns which helped me admit my stubbornness and pride. I am on SSI and was hiding in my apartment. Finding Kaufman Connect started out as visiting for lunch. Then I began to meet people and work out. I even tried attending craft day and it has helped me learn what I can and can't physically do just like the workouts have. I may be younger than most of the people there but have been accepted by everyone there that I've met. I get to spend most of my mornings there now with workouts, socializing, and lunch. The lunch is way better than what I was making for 1 person. I would just make a sandwich for lunch (quick and easy). Now I get a 5-star meal with fresh fruit and vegetables which I couldn’t buy before, because they would spoil before I could use them, preparing just for a single person. Before I was stubborn and proud and felt like I wasn't worthy to go to Kaufman Connect, but have swallowed my pride and it was probably the best thing I did to help me recover instead of hiding in my apartment." Jerry Y.

“Kaufman Connect has been great for us to get adjusted to the area after living in South Alabama for 70 years.  The people have gone over and above to help us, and the exercise class is good for us.  Anyone who wants good fellowship and a great lunch should come to see what Kaufman Connect has to offer." Wayne & Linda H.

'“I go here twice a week for exercise class. I’m in a wheelchair and I’m still hoping to walk, and I enjoy everybody here. They’re nice. I haven’t been around nice people - old people - for a long time, but everybody is very nice! You just have to come and see it and enjoy it. It’s from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. They serve a light breakfast and then exercise class, and then Bible study, and then you have a hot lunch!”
